Testimonial for Duncanwoods International Log and Timber HomesAs we near completion of our dream we wanted to let you know how delighted we are with our log home and the services Duncanwoods provided throughout the process.  Living in Texas and wanting to build a log home in northern Idaho sounded impossible, but with your guidance, it is now a reality.   A year ago we sent out a proposal to numerous log home providers and you were the only one that responded with a clear interest in understanding our needs and making sure the project met all personal and engineering requirements (others wanted to simply provide a quote).  Your ability to suggest builders for our review, willingness to make site visits before contractual commitment, active role in creating engineering drawings, and participation in weekly conference calls has allowed us to complete this project from 2500 miles away.  We have looked at numerous log homes and we have no doubt that Duncanwoods is the premier provider of log homes in the Northwest. Our home is nearly complete, but our friendship will live forever. -- Scott & Maria

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to live in the mountains in a cabin. Last time I traveled back home, my mom got out a folder with clippings from magazines of cabins. I had completely forgotten about it -- I must have done that when I was about 13 or so. This is my dream. Maybe that sounds funny coming from someone so young, but I am fortunate to be able to start my dreams early in my life. I am fortunate for two reasons: one is because I have a great job to be able to afford my dream home, and two is that I met you two so that my dream could become a reality. If I hadn't met you two, I would not have gone through with all of this. I would have been too scared to take the journey alone. Now I feel like I am not alone, and I truly thank you for this. -- Tanya

We always dreamed of building a log home. We spent many years researching and discussing many log home designs and companies. In 1999 we were looking through the Log Home Living magazine and saw the ad for Duncanwoods in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and we made arrangements to meet with Ron and Pam. From the moment we met them, we knew that we would build a log home because they were so honest and up front with us. In 2002 we were finally in the position to purchase our Dream Home. Pam and Ron have always been willing and able to help with the many questions and concerns from first-time log home builders. We have made many decisions in the past year regarding our new house, but by far the best decision we made was choosing Ron and Pam Nicolson as our dealer. -- Mike and Lynette
We met Ron and Pam in December 2002 while visiting the Coeur d'Alene area. We were sitting in our rental car in front of their log home discussing its appearance and the workmanship. The door of the home opened with Pam inviting us in. We knew we had found the log home we had been searching for, but we did not know that we would end up meeting two of the most fantastic people of our lives. Ron and Pam were with us in every phase of building, from the design of the plans to the unloading of the truck to the final log being set to the home's completion and our moving in. -- Gary and Susan

In Sept 2003, over a game of gin rummy in our RV somewhere in Wyoming, Art said, “why don’t we just get out of the rat race and build a nice log house in the woods…it would be an adventure!”

When we returned to the San Francisco Bay Area, we did Internet research, attended a log home show, started drawing rough sketches of floor plan ideas, and began communicating with companies that could offer the options we wanted.  The following March we made a trip to northern Idaho where we had 10 acres in the woods.  We had scheduled to meet with reps from three different companies at the building site and to tour some of their homes.  One of those three was Ron and Pam Nicolson of Duncanwoods.

It was their personality and the quality of the information that they shared that finally made the choice for us.  Most of the products were very similar in nature, but their attention to detail, suggestions, tips and consistent follow through were what made it an easy decision to move forward with them on our team.

Nine months later we were Idaho residents and breaking ground.  Ron and Pam were there with us through every phase of the project.  We’ll never forget having donuts and coffee, and the exhilaration and excitement as the first of three huge semis loaded with logs rumbled up the gravel driveway.

We had left the rat race and were on an incredible adventure!
Today thanks in great part to Ron and Pam’s expertise and commitment to our project, and to us, we live in the PERFECT log home. -- Art and Patti, Spirit Lake, Idaho
