Everyone has a dream — that’s what keeps us moving forward. In our case the dream was to own a custom log home nestled in the woods. Coming from a military background with the British Royal Air Force, neither of us had ever lived long enough in one place to settle down or own our own home.

Discovering the Northwest and Idaho

After 35 years of traveling around the world, we had seen some wonderful locations however, nothing impressed us as much as the American Northwest, in particular Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. We purchased property on the east side of the lake -- we wanted to put down roots and start the first stage of fulfilling our dream.

Our Log Home Dream Becomes Reality

After much research our floor plan was derived from a customized chalet and was constructed in the very popular ‘D’ double tongue and groove log profile. The home was built and completed in 2000. Over the coming years our quest was to assist other dreamers in achieving their goal. It is our mission to provide you our client with a fully integrated service package to meet whatever your personal needs may be. Including but not limited to assistance and support through the planning and construction of your home, put you in touch with local builders and contractors, who have experienced the construction of the log package, typically crews will work with you to build your home to whatever stage you desire — weather-tight to turnkey.

The traditional concept has been that National Log & Timber producers either sell direct to the buying public or utilize an independent dealer representing a single producer of a product; this has served the log & Timber Home industry well for decades. However in these troubled economic times and lower customer demand has resulted in struggling and or bankrupt producers, many of the failures were caused by companies operating outside of their means; too high an overhead and out of touch with the needs of the buying public.

Duncanwoods International Log & Timber Homes along with other dealers felt this was the right time to introduce a superior way to service their customers. We decided to form an association under CNW Log Homes of America a new Independent National Dealer Network where the concept has moved from the traditional emphasis of the producer brand loyalty to individual dealer loyalty where it’s arguably always been from the customer perspective. This revolutionary change in philosophy allows the dealer based organization to offer to customers’ unmatched selection of quality products, superior service and peace of mind that the product will be delivered as promised.
